Senior Data Protection Officer

We are looking for a
Senior Data Protection Officer
to join our Privacy and Compliance team and support data privacy, personal data protection and compliance initiatives in Vietnam.
In this role, you will work closely with
Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Public Affairs and other cross-functional teams
to provide practical, risk-based privacy guidance and help embed privacy and compliance requirements into business operations, products and decision-making.
You will support the implementation and monitoring of privacy governance frameworks, advise on privacy and data protection matters, and help ensure compliance with evolving privacy and cybersecurity requirements in Vietnam. The role will also provide privacy expertise for new products, AI-enabled features and emerging technologies, while supporting regulatory matters and the ongoing development of privacy and compliance programmes.
Responsibilities
Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and vendor risk assessments
, recommend practical remediation measures, and provide risk-based privacy advice to leadership.
Review agreements relating to the transfer and processing of personal data
among relevant entities.
Build, refine and scale the data privacy and personal data protection compliance framework
, ensuring alignment with applicable policies, laws and regulations.
Develop and maintain internal practices and processes
to support privacy initiatives, including identifying opportunities to improve and automate privacy processes, frameworks and controls.
Perform privacy reviews and advise business and product development teams
to embed
Privacy by Design
into new products, AI-enabled features and emerging technologies.
Lead and support privacy incident and data breach investigations
, including the implementation of appropriate remediation measures.
Lead and support responses to regulatory investigations and data subject requests
, ensuring timely and appropriate handling of privacy-related matters.
Provide project support to the Legal team
on privacy and data protection matters, including privacy considerations in relevant commercial arrangements.
Manage, develop content for and oversee the privacy training programme
to support awareness and implementation of privacy requirements across the organisation.
Monitor developments in data privacy and data protection requirements in Vietnam
, and collaborate with Public Affairs and relevant stakeholders to coordinate communications with regulatory authorities when necessary.
Work with leadership to provide strategic guidance
on emerging privacy requirements and regulatory developments.
Prepare and file regulatory dossiers and submissions
to support compliance with applicable regulations.
Query, analyse and extract data using SQL and Python
to generate reports for regulatory submissions, compliance reporting and data subject requests.
Support country Compliance teams
in preparing routine and ad-hoc regulatory reports and act as a point of contact for communications with regulatory authorities to ensure timely responses to requests for information.
