JTL-Software is one of Germany's leading providers of e-commerce and ERP solutions. More than 50,000 retailers rely on JTL every day to run their business. Our global development center in Vietnam is looking for talented people to build the next generation of these products. You'll work in an international team that pairs German software quality and Vietnamese speed to innovate.
You will be part of JTL's Developer Platform team (AI & Cloud Platform department). We build the foundations other engineering teams at JTL build on. Our work spans developer enablement (engineering standards, shared tooling, CI/CD, internal docs), cloud platform enablement (self-service building blocks for first-party apps: deployments, infrastructure, identity, and API management), and external developer relations (public developer docs, SDKs and CLIs, our public APIs and API gateway, and developer community and events).
AI enablement is a major focus for our department and team: most of the platform features we roll out are designed AI-first.
As a Frontend Engineer, you will help strengthen frontend development at JTL. You will build and maintain the shared frontend templates, libraries, and tooling that our product teams rely on, and contribute to our design system and component library. You will work closely with our platform engineers and the wider team to ensure that our frontend development environment is performant, scalable, and consistent across teams.
You will also help evaluate new frontend technologies and assess their fit for our frontend landscape.
YOUR EXCITING TASKS
Create and maintain frontend templates, boilerplates, and libraries that help product teams work faster.
Contribute to our design system and component library.
Support frontend teams in adopting and using our guidelines, templates, and tools.
Help ensure a performant, scalable frontend development environment with modern toolchains.
Evaluate new frontend technologies and assess their fit for our frontend landscape.
Support bootstrapping new frontend projects so our standards, best practices, and toolchains are applied from the start.
Contribute to frontend standards and best practices at JTL.
YOUR PROFILE AND YOUR PERSONALITY
Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript and the surrounding ecosystem.
Experience working with REST and GraphQL APIs.
Experience with modern frontend tooling (Vite, turborepo, pnpm).
Extensive testing experience (Vitest, Jest, Playwright).
Comfortable with Git and collaborative workflows (pull requests, code reviews).
Strong communication skills. Much of the role is driving standards and best practices across teams, so clear written and, especially, verbal communication is essential.
Strong understanding of and genuine interest in AI development. Most of the platform features we build are designed AI-first, so this is central to how we work.
Fluent English with a recognized certificate that demonstrates spoken fluency (-IELTS 7.0).
Our day-to-day work happens in spoken English, so verbal fluency is a hard requirement
Nice To Have
Experience contributing to or consuming a shared component library.
Experience working on large-scale distributed frontends (micro frontends or monorepo structures).
A second area of depth on top of strong frontend skills (T-shaped), in one of these directions:
UX design experience, or
API design, microservice architecture, and general backend knowledge.
Experience building for other engineers (platform or developer-productivity work).
