Designer (Apparel and Textiles)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design Execution: Create original artwork, patterns, and prints for a variety of apparel products and media, including tees, hoodies, jerseys, and accessories.
Trend Research: Stay ahead of industry trends, consumer preferences, and cultural movements to inspire fresh and relevant design ideas.
Technical Proficiency: Prepare production-ready files and collaborate with manufacturers to ensure high-quality execution of graphic designs.
Feedback and Revisions: Actively participate in design critiques, providing and receiving feedback to refine and enhance designs.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all graphics adhere to brand guidelines and maintain consistency across different apparel lines.
Innovation: Explore new techniques, technologies, and materials to push the boundaries of graphic design in apparel.
Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and meeting all project deadlines.
Collaboration: Work closely with product designers, developers, and marketing teams to ensure graphics are seamlessly integrated into apparel designs.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in graphic design, with a strong focus on apparel.
Portfolio: A compelling portfolio showcasing a range of graphic design work, particularly in apparel, demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency, and a strong design aesthetic.
Creative Skills: Exceptional design skills with a strong sense of typography, colour, composition, and visual storytelling.
Illustration Expertise: Strong illustration skills, with the ability to create both digital and hand-drawn artwork that aligns with the brand's vision.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design software. Familiarity with screen printing, embroidery, and other apparel decoration techniques is a plus.
Trend Awareness: In-depth knowledge of current trends in fashion, sportswear, and graphic design.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
