RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conceptual and Detailed Design: Develop mechanical designs for robotic components and systems, including actuators, linkages, enclosures, and structural elements.
A-Class Surface Development: Create and refine A-Class surfaces for exterior and interior components, ensuring high aesthetic quality and manufacturability.
CAD Modeling and Simulation: Utilize advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA) to create detailed 3D models and perform simulations (FEA, CFD) to validate designs.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA): Optimize designs for efficient manufacturing and assembly processes.
Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the fabrication and testing of prototypes to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and reports.
Collaboration: Work closely with industrial
designers,
electrical engineers,
software engineers, and other team members to integrate mechanical designs with other subsystems.
Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials based on performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
Tolerance Analysis: Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure proper fit and function of mechanical assemblies.
We are looking for exceptional Senior Mechanical Design Engineers with deep expertise in product design and A-Class surface development. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical systems for advanced robots. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and industrial designers, to bring innovative concepts to life. Your expertise in A-Class surfacing will be crucial in creating aesthetically pleasing and functional robotic forms.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or consumer electronics.
Proven experience in developing A-Class surfaces for complex geometries.
Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
Experience with tolerance analysis.
Experience with FEA and CFD simulation software.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA).
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including kinematics, dynamics, and materials science.
Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding, 3D printing).
Expertise in surface modeling and surfacing techniques.
Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
