Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Design Engineer at Right Weigh Company Limited.

Reports To: Plant Manager
Product Development
• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, fixtures, and products based on customer and project requirements.
• Create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
• Develop design concepts, evaluate different solutions, and optimize designs for functionality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Support prototype development, assembly, testing, and design validation. Analyze test results and implement necessary design improvements.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently and consistently.
• Identify design issues and implement engineering changes to improve product performance, quality, reliability, and cost.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to review drawings, specifications, prototypes, tooling, and production issues.
• Provide technical support to production and resolve mechanical and design-related problems during manufacturing and assembly.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, engineering drawings, specifications, ECNs/ECOs, test reports, and other technical documents.
• Work with the Quality team to investigate root causes of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Work with project teams to ensure design activities are completed according to project schedules and milestones.
• Participate in research and development discussions
Maintenance
• Provide solutions and feedback for customer reported issues as well as new feature requests
• Provide input for product documentation
Testing & Quality Control
• Testing, Validation & Quality Control
• Support troubleshooting and improvement of mechanical equipment and components used in manufacturing.
• Technical Support and Customer Service
• Maintain competitive knowledge of Right Weigh products and their functions
• Problem-solve customer technical service issues and coach staff in problem-solving techniques as needed
Cross-Team Interaction
• Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Marketing,
Purchasing, Customer Success, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication in English
• Good knowledge of mechanical drawing, GD&T, dimensional tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of machining, sheet metal, injection molding, casting, stamping, and/or other manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Experience with prototype development and product testing.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Experience in product development from concept to mass production.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA, GD&T, FMEA, and engineering change processes.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and mechanical testing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing cost and design optimization.
