JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Software Quality and Automation Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and successful delivery of Digital products and integrated systems. The role is responsible for leading software quality assurance activities across the full Agile Scrum lifecycle, including test planning, test execution, defect management, and test automation. The successful candidate will drive the adoption of QA best practices, regression test automation, and AI-assisted quality engineering, while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders to improve product quality, testing efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across INSEAD's Digital ecosystem.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Participate in business and technical requirements analysis with stakeholders to understand product requirements, define test objectives, and ensure quality requirements are adequately addressed.
Plan, design, and execute functional and non-functional testing activities, including test strategy development, test planning, test case creation and maintenance, test execution, defect identification and reporting, retesting, validation of fixes, and preparation of test metrics and quality reports.
Manage and maintain test environments, test data, and testing tools to ensure readiness for test execution and support efficient delivery of testing activities.
Design, implement, maintain, and enhance Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation frameworks, including CI/CD integration, automated regression testing, test automation best practices, and quality engineering standards.
Collaborate with Digital teams across multiple products and platforms to develop and maintain automated test solutions, continuously improving automation coverage, script quality, and testing efficiency.
Support the evaluation, design, and implementation of test automation solutions, including process improvement initiatives, technical solution recommendations, tool assessments, and licensing strategy.
Provide guidance, knowledge sharing, workshops, and training to promote quality engineering and test automation best practices across Digital teams.
Work effectively in a multicultural and multi-location environment, driving the adoption of appropriate functional, technical, and automated testing approaches to ensure consistent product quality and successful delivery.
Apply AI-assisted tools and techniques to improve test coverage, defect detection, and quality insights.
Leverage AI capabilities to:
• Analyze defect trends and recurring quality issues
Identify quality risks in releases and regression scopes
Support intelligent test selection and prioritization
Collaborate with Digital and Quality Management teams to support AI initiatives in QA, including knowledge discovery, reporting automation, and quality analytics.
Contribute to the design, implementation, or usage of AI agents or copilots (e.g. for quality insights, defect analysis, or reporting).
Continuously evaluate emerging AI and ML capabilities relevant to software testing and quality engineering.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
ISTQB certification or equivalent software testing certification preferred.
Work Experience The job holder should possess:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including both manual and automated testing.
Strong experience in test automation framework design, implementation, and maintenance using Tosca, Selenium WebDriver, and related automation technologies.
Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman and automated API testing frameworks.
Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Practical experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and other DevOps tools.
Experience with source code management, test automation repositories, and version control systems.
Working knowledge of software development technologies including Java, JavaScript, C#, PHP, Python, and modern web applications.
Experience working across multiple platforms and environments, including Windows, Linux, and cloud technologies (AWS).
Proficiency with project management and defect management tools such as Jira.
Ability to lead end-to-end testing activities, including planning, execution, defect management, reporting, and coordination with business users and development teams.
Experience or demonstrated exposure to AI-assisted testing, quality analytics, or intelligent automation.
Hands-on experience using AI features within testing, DevOps, or delivery platforms (e.g. Jira/Atlassian ecosystem, test analytics tools, defect analysis tools).
Experience analyzing large sets of test or defect data using AI-driven or data-assisted approaches.
Understanding of how AI can be applied to:

Technical Knowledge & Competencies
Strong expertise in Tosca, including test case design, module creation, test execution, maintenance, API testing, TestCase Design (TCD), ExecutionLists, test data management, and CI/CD integration.
Strong knowledge of Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid, TestNG, Maven, Cucumber (BDD), and automated regression testing frameworks.
Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices covering functional, integration, system, regression, UAT, and automation testing.
Knowledge of software development and quality engineering practices, including Agile, Scrum, TDD, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
Experience administering and supporting CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and defect management skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to facilitate test planning sessions, defect triage meetings, and quality reviews.
Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities and workstreams.
Ability to mentor team members, provide testing guidance, and promote quality engineering best practices across teams.
Familiarity with the organization's application landscape, system integrations, and data flows is an advantage.
Experience working effectively in multicultural and geographically distributed teams.
AI & Intelligent Automation
Understanding of AI concepts applied to software quality, such as:
• Pattern recognition in defects
Predictive quality risk indicators
Intelligent test prioritization
Experience working with or supporting AI-enabled tools in QA, DevOps, or Agile delivery environments.
Familiarity with integrating AI insights into Jira, Confluence, CI/CD pipelines, or QA reporting.
