solution Design Manager

Solution Development
· Lead and work with internal teams to customize and develop innovative warehouse & Distribution solution to meet specific customer needs. Identify and advise industry specific trends in targeted vertical markets in the region based on the detailed understanding of their operational characteristics.
· Provide leadership to oversee the entire solution design process of all warehousing projects in Vietnam with includes the data analysis, determination of solution concept, detailed solution design, cost modelling and price calculations.
· Understand, interpret, and map out customer operation workflow with the information obtained from the RFx package, customer meeting and/or site visits.
· Identify potential areas for optimization in customer operation workflow and propose improvements.
· Analyse customer's data in the RFx package to recommend suitable storage system(s), complimenting material handling equipment (MHE) and manpower resources with the right manning level.
· Identify suitable warehouse locations based on customer business requirements.
· Propose and design warehouse internal layout(s) with CLASS/AutoCAD software.
· Conduct analysis, propose and implement improvements on unsuccessful tenders as necessary
· Provide insights to the internal teams regarding regional requirements and local business practices in multi-country bids.
· Be the Vietnam Warehouse Solution SME for matters in relation to Warehousing Cost Modelling, and relevant tools (AutoCAD/CLASS) and methodologies.
Commercial & Pricing
· Work in partnership with the and BD team in winning the business by advising the most competitive selling rate(s) and participate in financial and/or contract negotiations to ensure profitability and/or the recovery of all project and operation costs.
· Determine estimated cost required for the proposed solution via key personnel/team within country organization, existing vendor contacts and/or direct sourcing.
· Customise and develop cost models based on RFx requirements and determine selling rates in accordance to customer pricing template.
· Ensure projected revenue in the cost models meet the targeted MIRR (Minimum Internal Rate of Return) and EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Tax).
· Validate and review cost models with key stakeholders based on design assumptions and proposed terms and conditions and advise them on the potential business risk.
· Prepare financial justifications and investment applications for new logistics program start up to obtain management approval.
· Support the and BD team in the development of negotiation strategy, value proposition and prepare the supporting figures.
· Maintain a region cost database for country benchmarking exercises prior to RFx submission.
Standard Engagement, Coaching & Training
· Enhance and improve the competency of the internal teams in the region through various means of knowledge transfer.
· Ensure adherence to Schenker - Contract Logistics Delivery Model (CLDM) pertaining to Solution Design
· As a member of APAC SD Leadership, support on the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of standardised SD working methodologies, tools and templates.
· Develop, adopt and conduct training programs in the areas of solution design including cost modelling to internal teams as required, and/or customise materials and tools based on participants' training needs.
· Work collaboratively with RHO team to guide and support in-country users for the usage of Schenker worldwide developed tools (e.g. CosMo / GCT).
· Act as Solution Design focal point in Vietnam
