Sourcing Specialist

The Sourcing team starts at the very earliest stages of product development, builds out the costing models and tracks where product stands at every step in the production cycle, from overseas shipping to our import warehouses, distribution centers and stores. And since Target is indeed a global company, you'll be part of the team that manages global relationships with multiple cross functional teams. As sourcing team seating near production location, your ability to stay aware of our suppliers' activities and to ensure compliance with responsible practices, will be a crucial role. You'll be a close point-of-contact with Target team members in sourcing offices located in 20 countries around the globe, and you'll support their work as liaisons among buyers, product developers and overseas partners.
Primary Function:
Responsible for business development, sourcing, placement, production management, shipment and post-shipment processes for designated merchandising area(s) and geographic market(s) by partnering with global sourcing teams, business partners and cross functional teams (CFT).
Responsibilities:
Use your skills, experience and talents to be a part of Owned Brand Sourcing & Development (OBS&D), Global Sourcing and visionary goals. As a Sourcing Specialist, you will:
• Actively engage in macro/micro market intelligence by reaching out market resources in identifying new business opportunities and assessing/mitigating business risks.
• Ensure with vendor and HQ Cross functional teams to be on time track of development and business award timing to best serve the right purpose of product to the guest in right timing.
• Responsible for post-placement follow-up and ensure vendor timing and action (VTA) is complete and accurate to meet quantity, quality, product specifications and delivery requirements.
• Maintain close contact with Headquarter (HQ) counterparts and CFT to ensure implementation of their strategies, goals and objectives.
• Promote OBS&D focus areas and link own work to Target Corporation's vision and values.
