Substitute Nurse (On-call Job)

The Substitute School Nurse, working on a temporary basis, is responsible for providing essential health services coverage in the absence of the regular school nurse. This role involves maintaining and operating the school's health office, managing routine health issues and emergencies according to established school policies and medical protocols, and ensuring the continuity of care for students. The Substitute Nurse will collaborate with school staff and families as necessary to address immediate health needs and promote a safe and healthy environment for all students.
Essential duties and responsibilities
1. Manage onsite for illnesses or injuries until:
❖ student / staff returns to class / work
❖ student is released to parents / legal guardian
❖ student / staff is transferred to a nearest medical facility for emergency care if needed
2. Conduct annual health screenings for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
3. Provide nurse service to all PE classes, school events and activities when required.
4. Document students' health information in Magnus Health System. Handle students' health information in confidential & professional manners.
5. Monitor public health concerns, and work with the health office manager to issue alerts to students and families.
6. Participate in providing health promotion and health education activities to students, staff, faculty, and parents as needed.
7. Promote good relationships with local health providers/ other international school nurse communities.
8. Maintain effective relationships with parents, students and colleagues.
9. Complete other assignments from time to time, report to Health Office Manager
