(1) Find new vendors for Michigan Manufacturing International (MMI) from which to purchase goods: MMI is interested in
purchasing mechanical components and assemblies. The manufacturing technologies sought by MMI include, but are not limited to, plastic injection molding, plastic thermoforming, plastic extrusion, die casting, sand casting, investment casting, turning, boring, milling, stamping, forging, welding, riveting, plating, painting and assembly. The particular goods required will be communicated by MMI sales representatives to the successful candidate via our online MRP system.
(2) Provide quick and reliable quotations: When MMI enters a request for quotation through its MRP portal, the successful supply chain manager will endeavor to reply to that quotation's request as quickly and accurately as possible.
(3) Provide logistical support for the shipping of goods from suppliers to MMI: Since MMI will be paying for most of the freight costs from the vendor to MMI's warehouse, freight costs and methods will need to be tightly controlled by the successful supply chain manager.
(4) Provide quality control: The successful supply chain manager will be responsible for assuring the quality of any product shipped to MMI in North America and elsewhere. Tasks that are to be done to meet this requirement include, vendor surveys, in process quality checks, development of quality plans and final inspections.
(5) Negotiate with suppliers on price, delivery, payment methods, quality and financing.
(6) Set up transparent payment methods by which MMI will pay vendors: It is critical that all parties involved in the payment transaction are able to view and audit all payments and receipts connected to the relationship established by the successful supply chain manager. Vendors will be asked, as part of their order confirmation process to guarantee that no commissions, bonuses or gifts will be made in connection with the fulfillment of the order to third parties.
(7) Find potential investments for MMI: MMI is interested in finding investments in Vietnam. For example, the company might be interested in buying a manufacturing plant of some kind.
(8) Cooperate with other MMI supply chain manager.
1. Mechanical engineering bachelors level degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge of manufacturing processes a plus.
2. Basic knowledge of English. Fluency is not required.
3. Two to three years' experience with a company engaged in international trade. Knowledge of international logistics and shipping helpful.
4. Willingness to learn and engage in new activities.
