ABOUT THE POSITION:
KII Solutions, hosting our development team in Vietnam, is seeking a motivated Junior System Engineer to join K2 Solutions. In this role, you will be a key member of a high-performing IT team dedicated to ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our clients' IT infrastructures. OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE:
As a Junior System Engineer, you will support the stability, performance, and security of client IT environments. Working collaboratively with a skilled IT team, you will assist in delivering reliable managed services across diverse systems. Your core responsibilities will include system monitoring, routine maintenance, first-level technical support, and documentation. This role offers valuable hands-on learning opportunities in system deployment, cloud platforms, and infrastructure security, establishing a solid foundation for professional growth in a dynamic managed services environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
System Monitoring & Infrastructure Support:
- Monitor servers, cloud services, and IT infrastructure using monitoring tools to ensure system availability and performance.
- Assist in basic configuration and testing of devices and services, including servers, SQL databases, Microsoft Exchange, Domain Controllers, Veeam, VMware, and Microsoft 365.
- Support cloud service setup and migration tasks under supervision, including Azure Storage, Azure AVD, and Office 365 environments.
- Generate and review system health and performance reports to identify potential issues.
Routine Maintenance & Updates:
- Assist in scheduled maintenance tasks such as software patching, backup checks, and system updates.
- Report and document any irregularities found during maintenance or monitoring activities.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support:
- Provide first-level support for system issues, escalating more complex problems to senior engineers.
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related incidents in a timely manner.
Project Assistance:
- Help track project tasks and milestones to ensure progress aligns with planned schedules.
- Provide updates to senior staff regarding task completion and minor issue resolution.
Documentation:
- Assist in maintaining clear and up-to-date documentation for systems, procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Update network and system diagrams under the guidance of senior staff.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams including network, security, and support staff to deliver integrated IT services.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to knowledge sharing and improvement discussions.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience (2-3 years) as a System Engineer in IT infrastructure management / User Support or similar.
- MSP experience.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, SQL, Exchange Server, VMware, vCenter, Redhat, Duo, Azure MFA, Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Windows10.
- Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe) required.
- Good English language ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
