Teaching Assistant physical education

A - Job summary
The Teaching Assistant supports students with their learning activities in the classroom, working closely with the teacher to make sure pupils enjoy learning in a safe and caring setting.
B - Essential duties and responsibilities
Assist PE Teachers
1. Teaching skills in class with teacher
2. Refereeing game play in class
3. Computer input of data for PE class - includes working in Power Teacher, Schoology, Google Suites, and other programs/apps as set by the PE department.
4. Assist with fitness testing, and other assessments as directed
5. Use office equipment (ex. copy machine)
Equipment
1. Set -up and take down equipment for classes
2. Keep running inventory of PE equipment, athletic equipment and break equipment - working order as well as damaged
3. Maintain and organize equipment - cleaning, sanitizing, general maintenance, etc.
4. Maintenance of equipment and store rooms - cleaning, organizing, etc.
5. Assist in purchasing of local equipment
Gym and Fields
1. Ensure facilities in use for the day meet safety standards. Address any safety issues or notify PE teachers if safety issues cannot be addressed.
2. Turn on and off all fans and AC in the gym daily
3. Assist with preparation of facilities for use during student break times including equipment management. Supervise students during breaks per schedule provided by administration.
