The Job
We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to own the technical direction and engineering execution of our healthcare platform.
You will lead a small cross-functional engineering team while remaining actively involved in coding, code review, architecture, delivery, and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- You own backend and platform architecture.
- Design and build critical services using [protected info] and TypeScript.
- Lead technical planning, estimation, delivery, and risk management.
- Establish standards for code quality, testing, security, monitoring, and releases.
- Review code and mentor backend and frontend engineers.
- Coordinate technical delivery across frontend, backend, mobile.
- Lead production incident response and improve system reliability.
- Manage technical debt and maintain a practical technical roadmap.
- Ensure critical system knowledge and infrastructure are properly documented.
Your Skills and Experience
Must have:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of production experience with [protected info] and TypeScript.
- Previous Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or equivalent technical ownership experience.
- Strong SQL database design and optimization skills.
- Strong backend architecture and system design experience.
- Hands-on AWS experience, including several of the following: CDK, Lambda, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Experience with code review, CI/CD, monitoring, incident handling, and production systems.
- Experience mentoring engineers.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have:
- Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
- AWS CDK with TypeScript.
- Event-driven systems and message queues.
- Healthcare or other sensitive-data domains.
- Experience growing engineering teams
