The Job
Designer Journeys is seeking a highly motivated and talented Test Engineer Lead to join our fast-growing travel tech start-up. You will have the opportunity to work with a driven and competent team towards our grand vision of disrupting the travel product supply chain by consistently and rapidly taking small steps at a time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies, focusing on automation, to ensure the quality and performance of software products.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
- Ensure that all test documentation is up-to-date and accessible to the team.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for regression, functional, and performance testing using tools like Playwright, Jest, JMeter, etc.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous testing.
- Regularly review and optimise test automation frameworks and tools to improve efficiency.
- Lead the execution of manual and automated tests, ensuring thorough coverage of all test scenarios.
- Analyse test results and work closely with developers to resolve issues promptly.
- Provide detailed test reports, defect trends, and areas for improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of testers, providing technical expertise and support in test automation and best practices.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets testing deadlines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers to define test plans, prioritise test cases, and allocate resources effectively.
- Track, manage, and prioritise defects using Jira.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing team.
- Participate in project meetings and provide insights and recommendations from a testing perspective.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, advancements in test automation and adoption of AI in the Testing Process.
Your Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation.
- Proven experience in leading a testing team or mentoring junior testers.
- Extensive experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript for writing automated test scripts.
- You possess a strong product mindset.
- You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities are the pluses.
- Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS is a plus.
- Knowledge of security testing practices and tools is an added benefit.
