Test Lead Embedded Software

As a Test Lead (Embedded Software), you will take ownership of test planning, execution, and quality assurance for embedded software projects.
You will lead a small test team (4-5 members) and work closely with software developers, project management, and global stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery across releases.

This role combines hands-on embedded software testing with technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Test Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and coordinate daily test activities for a small test team (4-5 members)
• Assign, prioritize, and track testing tasks to ensure on-time delivery
• Organize and moderate test team meetings and alignment reviews
• Provide clear test status reporting and escalation when quality risks arise

Test Planning & Execution

• Analyze software requirements and check testability
• Create and maintain feature-based test plans, schedules, and test strategies
• Coordinate testing activities for milestones and upcoming releases
• Execute and review test cases for embedded software and connected systems

Quality & Risk Management

• Identify test risks, define mitigation actions, and communicate proactively
• Track defects, verify fixes, and escalate quality issues when necessary
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and quality processes

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with software development, project management, and quality teams
• Align test plans with other project stakeholders and release timelines
• Support milestone reviews and quality decision checkpoints

Continuous Improvement

• Maintain toolchain systems (test management, defect tracking, CI/CD tools)
• Reuse and improve existing test methods and procedures across projects
• Support integration of new features and technologies into test approaches

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software testing, ideally in automotive or industrial domains
• Solid knowledge of test methodologies, test levels, and defect management
• Experience with embedded systems, HW-SW integration, and test environments
• Experience leading or coordinating a small test team
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality outcomes
• Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with test management tools, defect tracking systems, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in global or cross-site project teams
• Background in automotive standards or regulated environments
