* Job Purpose:
- The Textile Engineer will be responsible for searching, developing and testing Textile materials and processes used in The production of apparel
- This role requires a deep understanding of Textile science, engineering principles, and industry standards to ensure high-quality fabric performance and sustainability
* Key Activities:
* Product Development:
- Design and develop new textile products and materials that meet market demands and customer specifications (existing and potential new)
- Collaborate with design teams to create innovative fabric solutions for new apparel collections.
* Network and partnerships creation:
- Select a portfolio of suppliers with the ambition to partner in creating new products
Maintain up-to-date data about suppliers' portfolio
* Material Testing:
- Conduct physical and chemical testing of fabrics to evaluate their performance, durability, and safety.
- Analyze test results to provide recommendations for material selection and enhancements.
* Process Optimization:
- Evaluate and improve existing textile manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality.
- Implement best practices in production to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Technical Support:
- Provide technical guidance and support to production teams regarding fabric properties, handling, and processing.
- Troubleshoot issues related to textile production and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges.
* Research and Innovation:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in textile technology, materials, and sustainable practices.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for innovation in textile engineering.
* Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and technical specifications.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing findings and recommendations.

* R&D TEAM KPI (to distribute all members):
- Contributing to increased sales through appealing and marketable innovation/concepts/designs. Targeting at least 75% of concepts to reach the market.
- Reaching maximum level of customers satisfaction after completion of customers feedback tool (tbc)
* SPECIFIC KPI:
- Maintaining ""attractivity"" in the material library for presenting to customers. Renewing at least 30% new fabrics swatches in library per collection (2 times a year)
- Successfully develop and introduce at least 2 new fabric types of finishes per collection (2 times a year) that meet specific performance and market/consumer requirmeents and collaborate with
Designer to showcase in finished garments
- New fabric launch Rate --> Track the pourcentage of new fabrics developed and launched successfully, targetting at least 75% of projects to reach market
- Ensuring 100% of materials selected for concepts pass physical testing.
- Build strong network and maintaining high level of relationship within the key fabric suppliers. At least 5 new suppliers must be contacted per year.
- Provide technical guidance and training to Merchandisting team for inline development. 100% of cases escalated to R&D must get a solution.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Science, Material Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Working Experience: Proven experience in textile engineering or a related role within the apparel or textile industry.
* Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of fabric properties, textile testing methods, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely. Ability to write presentation in English. Any other language is a plus
