Roles/Responsibilities
1. Learners/Teaching:
• To educate all learners according to their educational needs and in accordance with the Online Teacher Guidance
• To provide good quality support and guidance to all learners fairly and equally
• To revise and prepare for lessons by familiarizing yourself with lesson materials and the required subject knowledge
• To utilize and deliver the existing courses and materials, ensuring that all resources are prepared and ready
• To follow the Scheme of Work for the course that you will be delivering
• To ensure that all live lessons are delivered in accordance with Nisai Standards
• To ensure that all lesson recordings are named in the standardised way and saved appropriately as soon as the lesson is finished so that students can access them at a later date when needed
• To utilize all available technologies to ensure a productive and personalized classroom experience for all learners
• To promote British Values
• To cover lessons for your colleagues when required
• Promote Sustainable Development Goals where appropriate
• To share lesson objectives with students in every lesson
• To ensure that if a recording needs to be removed that it is replaced appropriately and in a timely manner
• To prepare for "standard" teaching by participating in further training as and when required
2. Engagement
• To identify the needs of individual students and to work to help them fulfil their full potential
• To ensure you read the PWP and review the background and any education needs of learners in your allocated classes so that any amendments can be made to the delivery of the lesson if required
• To manage behaviour in lessons (see Behaviour Policy) and to engage all learners where possible
• To ensure differentiation is used in all lessons
• To contribute to the community areas of the NVA
3. Attendance
• To ensure that all registers are marked 10 minutes into the class to ensure that non-attendance alerts can be generated
• To accurately record attendance, engagement and communication scores in Nisims on a sessional basis
• To escalate any attendance concerns to the Tutor or CaSSt team as appropriate
4. SEND
• To have knowledge and awareness of SEND to support learner engagement
• Fully research and understand any identified student barriers
• To liaise with Nisai SENCO and CaSST team as required about student SEND issues
• Engage in EHCP review reports
5. Administration and Learner Records
• To ensure that any class notes are updated so that customers can see any issues/feedback
• To ensure that NISIMS is up to date at all times
• Ensure that all student issues are escalated to CaSST
• To record student progress following departmental procedures and standardisation
6. Compliance
• To promote and safeguard the welfare and Health and Safety of students
• To escalate any safeguarding or prevent concerns to the safeguarding lead at the earliest opportunity
• To ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to
• Ensure all communications are GDPR compliant
• To complete the Level 3 Qualification in a timely manner to ensure eligibility for the Level 5 certification
7. Communications
• Regularly check email, student email and Teams communications; providing responses in a timely manner
• To attend regular 1-2-1 sessions, being prepared to discuss students and evaluate own teaching performance
• Ensure excellent communications between staff including other Online Teachers, Mentors, CaSST, Sales & Marketing,
IT Support and HR.
• To provide feedback to customers and parents where necessary using the correct procedures
• Follow set processes and escalate according to policies and procedures
8. Technology & Assets
• Ensure that all company assets are protected
• Immediately notify IT Support of any faulty equipment or technical issues.
9. Other
• To keep your line manager appraised of any issues or concerns
• To attend and participate in staff meetings and any CPD sessions
• To engage in the Teacher Effectiveness Program (TEP)
• To attend company meetings where required
• To inform line manager when there is a training requirement
• Carry out any other tasks as directed by your Line Manager
