1. Deal mainly with local purchase.
2. Liaise with requestors to understand their requirements.
3. Source from competitive suppliers and prices that can meet our requirements.
4. Generate purchase order and liaise with supplier for order confirmation.
5. Liaise with section leader for payment matters.
6. To source for different quotes as and when required by management.
7. Complete administration tasks to authority.
8. Do the following jobs: open the door for departments to put scrap properly every day, weigh scrap in the company area and go out to weigh scrap trucks, supervise supplier for putting scrap on the truck, monitoring the amount of oil- Diesel to pour into the machines.
9. Perform regular vendor evaluations based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
10. Liaise with storekeeper for storing items. Support loading and arranging goods in the store and outside.
• Graduated from College or University with a major in Logistics and supply chain management or related fields.
◦ For College graduates: at least 2 years of relevant working experience is required.
◦ For University graduates: experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong ability to negotiate pricing, contract terms and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Proficient in Incoterms, custom clearance procedures, economic contract regulations and legal invoice/tax documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to compile reports and synthesize data is an advantage.
• Able to communicate in English at a basic working level (reading, writing, and simple conversations), capable of independently drafting commercial correspondence, economic contracts, and spending reports in English.
• Priority to having experience in
purchasing is preferred.
