- Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives. Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance functions of the organization.
- Ensure all division and department heads are provided with the necessary tools to carry out their financial responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure a cooperative working environment and team work by understanding the workings of the hospital departments and listen to the concerns of the management and take these into consideration when making financial decisions.
- Coach and develop team, managing work allocation, systems training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic.
- Supervise all the functions related to the financial operations of a hospital.
- Review the financial performance of the departments and divisions of the hospital and implement financial systems to monitor, track performance and recommend corrective action to the Board.
- Analyze all the financial data and information to ensure the hospital operates within Operating and Capital budgets approved by the Board of Directors ("Board").
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with VAS and applicable regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Ensure healthy cash flow management.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reports.
- Ensure both medical and non-medical items are purchased at most competitive price without compromising on the required quality and specifications determined by the requesting departments.
- Manage inventory to reduce the number and quantity of stock held and work towards just-in-time stock management.
- Standardize equipment and stock held as much as possible to minimize the duplication of equipment and stock.
- Ensure an effective inventory system to account, manage and control all hospital equipment and stock.
