ADAS Application Engineer - GPU/IMAGING (f/m/d)

Based out of our Duesseldorf office in Germany.

You will develop highly optimized SW for proof-of-concept implementations of automotive ADAS computer vision applications on the Renesas R-CAR Vx exploiting GPU features. You will define requirements for the next-generation ADAS products that comprise tools, software and hardware. An Eclipse-based toolchain featuring a high-level compiler, and detailed analysis and profiling tools will support you through performance and data flow optimization and basic test. You will utilize existing code libraries as the base for complete computer vision applications. You will further grow the scope of those libraries for use in generic ADAS application contexts.

Your Role:

Develop optimized implementations of ADAS vision applications as proof of concept starting
from C/C++, model or textual description
Creativity and curiosity for debugging and profiling of the applications in order to provide
an optimized solution for AWB, AE, color accuracy and related issues
Define requirements for future ADAS products i.e., tools, software and hardware and discuss them
with the respective development teams
Provide feedback regarding identified architectural, software or tool optimizations
to the architecture and development teams
Document code and measurement results and provide meaningful application notes
Support Renesas' automotive customers with Renesas R-CAR GPUs,
debugging reported issues and integration topics on system level
Ability to classify issues, react well to changes,
work with different teams and ability to multi-task on multiple products and projects

Your profile:

An academic degree in Computer Science, Electronics or similar.
5+ years experience in embedded software development with C/C++ on Windows and Linux
5+ years engineering work focusing on video-processing in an embedded system
Experience with current 3D GPU APIs (OpenGL ES and/or Vulkan) in an embedded system
Team player with a genuine interest in delivering an excellent solution, a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate well.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Valid work permit for Germany

Knowledge of GPU hardware architectures
ARM 64-bit architectures especially R-CAR V3x products
Requirements engineering
Linux OS and RTOS such as QNX, Integrity, eMCOS
GitLab environment and agile software development
Automotive SW development processes and standards like MISRA and ISO26262
