Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise for MathWorks products, and to assist customers to meet their technical and business needs.
As an Application Engineer, you will be part of the collaborative field-team to support pre-sales and post-sales activities towards the primary objectives of improving the awareness and adoption of MathWorks products. You will be an expert in your products and the applications that your products support. You will support product queries, demonstrations, and troubleshooting with customers and prospects. You will also conduct webinars, workshops, and external trainings.
Using your technical expertise as well as your excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, you will engage customers and prospects in seminars, conference calls, meetings, and through product evaluations to develop a shared vision for success. This role is a permanent full-time position, based in based in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide technical support for MathWorks products, including MATLAB, Simulink, and related toolboxes.
• Work with prospective customers to understand their workflow and use this knowledge to recommend effective solutions.
• Develop demonstrations including programs, application examples, and simulations to address the needs of our customers.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop account and territory level
technical sales strategies.
• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to address target market opportunities at webinars, seminars, trainings, and other public events.
• Travel on-demand to customer presentations, planning discussions, and on-site technical meetings, workshops.
• Stay current with new product releases and developments in the industry.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Computer Science, or related fields
• A minimum of three years of professional working experience in a relevant industry
• Experience with model-based design, physical modelling, simulation of mechanical, electrical, thermal, and fluid systems
• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, and Stateflow
• Knowledge of control systems design, including linear and nonlinear control
• Experience with automatic code generation
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, DO-178
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and real-time systems
• Object oriented software design and development experience
• Experience in working with electronic hardware such as microcontroller and DSP
• Application knowledge areas include at least one of the following: Signal Processing and Communications, and control systems
• Strong desire and ability to work with customers and turn their needs into actionable plans.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot issues.
• Highly motivated toward working directly with customers.
• Able to travel regionally.
• Willing to travel domestically
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects with ability to multi-task.
