About the job

We are currently pursuing an Applied Research Manager to join our R&D Department. In this role you will focus on building, scaling and maintaining an outstanding applied research function. You will manage all Polarium's Applied Research initiatives as well as supporting our product development projects with cutting edge competence and technology.

We will expect you to drive collaborations and initiatives with academic and research institutes, participate in forums to align research efforts and ensure we publish relevant studies and white papers. Together with Polarium's R&D Manager you will create and maintain an innovative environment to attract and retain the highest caliber engineers.

The position is based in Kista, Sweden.

Responsibilities:

Recruit, lead and develop team members
Support projects with leading edge competence and technology
Facilitate cooperation between Polarium and relevant academic institutions
Manage Polarium's Applied research initiatives
Manage Polarium's Technical roadmap, including alignment with product roadmaps
Work closely with the project delivery organization to support with technology and specialist resources

Qualification and experience:

Proven track record within similar roles, both from a technology and management perspective
Strong technology and R&D background
Experience from lithium batteries and/or energy storage
Experience in collaboration in projects with academic and research institutes
Relevant academic background
