Assitant Production Manager

- Reporting to (Direct): Production & Engineering Manager
- Reporting to (Indirect): General Director
- Supervises: FOL & Engineering Supervisor, Technicians, Tech Leaders & Asst Team Leader, Packing Supervisors, Leaders & Assistant Team Leaders, Packers, Factory Assistants.
- Coordinates with: All departments
- Overall job objectives:
• Supervise the FOL Production & Engineering and EOL team and to maintain productive application of resources including personnel, equipment, and facilities to achieve production goals, quality and cost objectives.
• Supervise, lead and inspire a team of subordinates to efficiently achieve departmental objectives through daily planning and scheduling, and reviewing of work performance.
• Manage packaging operations to effectively perform the packaging of semi-finished and finished goods and the labeling of products.
• Achieve operational efficiency by maximizing manpower, materials, facility, equipment and methods.
- Core responsibilities:
1. Font of line & Engineering
• Analyse production equipment to prevent costs associated with unexpected machine downtime and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Maintain critical spares parts. Initiate purchases in a timely manner by following company policies.
• Supervise daily front-of-line operations including workflow scheduling, management of staff, monitoring productivity and quality, production process troubleshooting and all other activities required to ensure on-time delivery and 100% customer satisfaction.
• Provide direction, support, and coaching to Technicians.
• Develop and assure implementation of a sound maintenance skills training program as appropriate. Determine skill gaps within the department and define training to bridge the gaps.
• Provide support and leadership in troubleshooting equipment.
• Ensure that breakdowns or disruptions in the production processes are minimized.
• Device and maintain a tools control system for the facility. Implement daily audit procedure on tools.
• Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed throughout the facility
• Ensure compliance with GMP regulations, ISO standards, safety regulations
• Communicate policies and ensure subordinates create a safe, productive and pleasant working environment.
• Support an environment of continuous improvement by making / implementing suggestions.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Production Manager
2. End of line:
• Analyze production specifications and ensure that the proper packaging materials are available.
• Allocate required manpower based on established production schedule.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance Department to ensure there are no issues with packaging.
• Update and upkeep the packaging workers timesheet for job costing.
• Ensure internal parties are fully aware of packaging status.
• Participate in the scale-up of new products in conjunction with QA/R&D.
• Ensure good housekeeping and safe working environment.
• Adhere to standard operating procedure and department operating procedures.
• Manage, motivate and develop packaging team to provide broad range of skills required.
• Create programs to reward and provide incentives for optimal contributions from team and individuals.
• Enact disciplines and corrective action when needed to bring team to realize objectives.
• Ensure compliance to operational, ISO and GMP procedures and standards.
