The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project is a five-year, global project funded by the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). EpiC Vietnam's goal is to deliver efficient, affordable, results-based technical assistance and direct services in HIV and COVID-19. EpiC is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Vietnamese candidate to serve as an Associate Project Officer based in Hanoi.
Main responsibilities:
Special Projects & Administrative Support (60%)
Work alongside technical and project leaders to execute special projects including supporting procurement, needs identification, research, and coordination across technical teams.
Provide additional support to various technical teams during surges in workload.
Translate documents from Vietnamese to English and English to Vietnamese.
Develop requests for proposals, statements of work, and other documentation that supports procurement.
Track HIV test kit inventory, coordinate with suppliers on test kit distribution, work with sites and social enterprises on test kit reports, and complete reconciliation documentation/reports in alignment with government and donor requirements.
Maintain project SharePoint folder and support teams to ensure all documents are organized.
Support the administration of online outreach campaigns including working with vendors.
Work with technical teams and partners to execute events and manage project reimbursements.
Knowledge Strengthening (40%)
Develop presentations, reports, and other knowledge products promoting successes, lessons learned, and knowledge gained to advance the global HIV response.
Respond to ad hoc requests related to areas of technical expertise.
Serve as the focal point and coordinator of internal training sessions including finding speakers, developing presentations, and evaluating sessions.
Coordinate and edit weekly newsletters that summarize project accomplishments for the donor.
Provide coordination support to ongoing eLearning initiatives.
Experience and abilities for the position:
Bachelor's degree in project management, administration, social work, public health or related field, advanced degree preferred
Professional experience working with men who have sex with men, transgender persons or other vulnerable populations preferred
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Vietnamese
Ability to travel as needed
