The Job

Job Description

As a Lead / Senior Data Engineer, you will work directly with the founders and developers to build the backbone of our business. This role will be critical in shaping our initial launch and deploying our analytics at scale. The lead engineer should have prior direct experience designing an effective and efficient database systems to ensure a continuous deployment and delivery of analytics products and services; ideally should have worked on time series databases and have built scalable and extendable web/app-based infrastructures for online applications.

Responsibilities

• Arhitect analytics systems with large-scaled databases, microservices, and distributed computing technologies
• Optimized database structures and content delivery performance
• Manage and maintain our continuously fast-growing databases
• Design and implement data security policy to protect our data sets
• Coordinate with project management, software architects, and other engineering teams in determining overall system solutions
• Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery
  

Your Skills and Experience

Requirements / Skills / Qualification

• High Education in relevant domains (IT Systems, Computer Science and Data Engineering)
  5+ years of prior relevant experience
• Hands-on engineering experience in large-scaled databases architectures
• Deep understanding and application experience of database management technology
• Experience with streaming data architectures and technologies for real-time and low-latency data processing
• Experience with cloud based distributed databases management
• Hands-on infrastructure development experience
• Understanding of agile development methods
• Capable to research and explore new domain knowledge independently
• Most importantly you are an individual who loves to learn and who thrives in a challenging start-up environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Qualifications related to managing Kubenetes, Docker, CloudID, prometheus, Ansible, terrafarm, Cloudflare
• The following cloud certifications are highly desired;
  - AWS / Google Certified Solution Architect - Professional
  - AWS / Google Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
• Application of Continuous Integration/Delivery, ClickUp, Jenkins, GitHub, JIRA, Confluence
• Been part of the DevOps process to automate the data pipelines.
