The Job
We are looking for excellent candidates fitting with our position of Bridge Software Engineer in the domain of Power Plant or Automation Systems, becoming a hub of communication between Japanese customers & offshore development teams in Vietnam.
Depending on their tendency & expertise, good performers will have great opportunities to become Project Manager, Software Architect or Business Development in the essential Toshiba business domains in the future.
Main duties & responsibilities
- Bridge the communication between Japanese customers and the software development team in Vietnam:
- Study and accurately convey the domain knowledge to the software development team.
- Gather and accurately & completely convey the customer's requirements and expectations to the development team.
- Timely & accurately report the project progress to the customer.
- Promptly address questions and issues from both the development team and the customer, ensuring smooth communication and workflow.
- Participate in project management, including planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring product quality.
- When necessary, participate in software development to ensure the product meets customer requirements.
- Involve in the product acceptance process to ensure that the product meets the requirements & quality standards before delivery to the customer.
Your Skills and Experience
Education
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronic & Telecommunication, or related fields.
Mandatory Skills
- 4 to 6 years continuous working experiences in software development:
- Hand-on experiences & firm knowledge in software engineering disciplines, especially, requirement analysis & software design.
- Hand-on experiences & firm knowledge in object-oriented programing & web development.
- Regularly and fluently use Japanese language in technical communication. Achieve Japanese proficiency level N3 or higher.
- Clear & precise in technical communication. Able to interact effectively with other persons by clear communication, empathy and teamwork spirit.
- Willing & capable to approach & learn new technologies or new domain knowledge quickly & persistently.
- Can use English (speaking & writing) in technical communication.
- High standard in work ethics: Integrity, Respect & Teamwork spirit.
- Strong mindset of high quality, continuous improvement & customer orientation.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to pay careful attention to details.
- Ready for business trips (a few weeks to 6 months) or onsite working in long term (1-3 years) in Japan.
- Looking up a long-term service opportunity (5 years or more).
Desired Skills
- Hand-on experiences in project management & team lead is significantly preferred.
- Hand-on experiences in with Java Web (JSP/Servlet, Struts, Spring MVC) and JS, HTML/CSS, JS Framework (VueJS, ReactJS) is a plus.
- Experiences & knowledge about power system (power plant, power transmission & distribution), SCADA for power system is a significant plus.
- Experiences working in Japan is a plus.
