BU Costing Assistant Manager

SUMMARY
Position reports to the BU OM and works with BU team and manufacturers to ensure proper cost standards are in place to cost product at target margin requirements. Manage BU Costing to accomplish CBS and price reporting accurately and timely. Act as gatekeeper to ensure that all costing standards, processes and policies are consistently applied in the CBS by BU Costing. Position assists BU OM to achieve the goal of "right price" in the business unit.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
10% Strategize the department and BU costing processes to meet the company goals, involve the costing team to define improvement activities in line with the strategy.
20% Responsible for planning BU and factory costing schedule and managing costing process within critical path dates, providing accurate and reliable cost information to Brand.
30% Analysis and negotiate with manufacturers on cost including factory sourced materials, components, process costs and labor and overhead in support of brand product margin requirements.
20% Collaborate closely with BU Dev-Com, Material team and Manufacturers for teardown meeting. Offer cost value engineering options throughout the product cycle to help drive cost down and ensure that new season products are developed to cost targets.
10% Contribute to discussions, and complete report documents in a logical and organized manner in BU Costing team.
10% Coach, train & mentor BU Costing team member and factory costing in all aspects of costing procedures, standards and policies.
