Buyer

*Raw Materials Buyer (working time from 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM):
Responsibilities:
- Purchasing Management:
1. Maintain and update purchasing parameters in AS400 to ensure accuracy.
2. Place orders with vendors, expedite, defer, or cancel as needed.
3. Monitor progress on new programs and ensure timely execution.
4. Communicate effectively with vendors:
- Daily order delivery communication.
- Weekly forecast communication.
- Periodic reviews to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Set future price targets based on purchasing volume/value.
5. Analyze and manage inventory levels, avoiding slow-moving aged stock.
6. Develop basic technical understanding of managed products.
- Vendor Communication and Management:
1. Collaborate with MRO planner for JIT delivery of MRO items.
2. Develop new vendors to reduce costs.
3. Continuously evaluate supplier performance.
4. Monitor on-time delivery.
5. Coordinate appropriate inventory levels for MRO stockrooms.
6. Participate in writing purchasing contracts.
7. Contribute to improvement projects (quality, productivity, cost, safety).
*Indirect Buyer:
1. Collaborate closely with the MRO planner, MRO purchasing supervisor, and related departments to ensure just-in-time (JIT) delivery of MRO purchased items.
2. Develop new vendors to reduce MRO purchasing costs.
3. Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve supplier performance.
4. Keep a close eye on delivery times to ensure they are on schedule.
5. Responsible for order placement timing, ensuring supply-demand alignment, and managing material replenishment.
6. Coordinate with the MRO planner to establish appropriate inventory levels for specific MRO stockrooms.
7. Participate in writing purchasing contracts.
8. Contribute to various projects and teams to enhance quality, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
