Organization overview
Teach For Viet Nam (TFV) is a young and dynamic organization with the vision that all children in Vietnam will attain an excellent education. We aim to achieve our vision through recruiting and developing a nationwide network of pioneering educators (fellows), who teach and lead with commitment to equity and quality education for all children in Vietnam. During the two years, fellows teach in rural public schools and work with underprivileged students and communities. Fellows gain deep local understanding, skills, and expertise to make a positive impact on students, teachers, parents, and communities. They also develop transferable skills and gain unique experiences that set them up to be leaders in education. TFV is in its seventh year of operation and currently placing 17 fellows in Quang Nam and Dong Thap. TFV is also an independent partner in the global network, Teach For All. Our vision for 2030 is becoming a movement of 10,000 educational leaders who work collectively to support children in rural areas to maximize their potential through quality education.
Role overview
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for Teach For Viet Nam's organizational development and will be heavily involved with short- and long-term strategic planning. Co-leading with Chief Executive Officer, the COO will be responsible for ensuring the team's ongoing development and execution of the operational strategies and improving internal systems and processes to help TFV to fulfill its mission. Over time, you will be responsible for evolving the structures and roles on the TFV team to match what is required to achieve our mission as we grow. The COO will have oversight across the whole organization, and they will also play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with TFV's external champions, including donors, government officials, Board of Advisors and the Board of Directors.
An ideal candidate is a natural leader with a strong track record of leading teams and a knack for bringing order to ambiguity. This is a hands-on execution role that requires exceptional leadership and management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work alongside and coach junior team members on a daily basis. This is a great opportunity for a visionary leader to take on a new challenge in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and socially-minded environment. They will keep expectations high and knit all of our team members together so that we can fulfill our mission and make a lasting impact
