Preferred by Nature is a non-profit organisation that works for sustainable land use and climate-friendly solutions. With 270+ staff around the world, our services and projects help organisations with their sustainability efforts, build capacity, raise awareness, conserve nature and support social wellbeing.

We are currently seeking a new team member for our Carbon Footprint Auditor position. The new person will work within our climate programme and will have primary focus on servicing our CFM clients, both for CFM certification and consultation.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

Conducting CFM audits and provision of other programme services in different regions (remotely as well as on-site)
Review CFM audit reports
Conduct both auditor and client training
Support the development of Preferred by Nature Carbon Footprint Management Standard and related service materials (procedures, templates, ongoing support and guidance)
Manage collaboration with partners and stakeholders in relation to Carbon Footprint Management services (including Climate Neutral Group)
Support promotion and sale of Preferred by Nature Carbon Footprint Management services and related networking and stakeholder relations management as well as support or lead with sales to specific client leads.
Develop carbon footprint calculation tools when needed and provide assistance with identification of emission factors in different databases
Consultation services in carbon footprint sector and helping the companies to reach their climate goals

Professional requirements

Master's degree in environmental science or similar field.
At least 2 years' experience with a similar position.
Previous experience with carbon footprint calculations
Ability to work with emission factors, experience with soil or forest carbon accounting is an advantage.
Experience with LCA analyses for different products would be appreciated
Client oriented with good communication skills, ability to conduct trainings
Fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

You have a high level of self-discipline, and you can organise and manage your time and tasks independently.
You are comfortable frequently communicating with colleagues around the world via various technical platforms.
You are a constructive team player with an open attitude and a good ability to work with people from many different cultures and backgrounds. The current team is multicultural and from various regions globally.

Position details

Work time: full time position
The position reports to our Climate Director, based in Czech Republic.
Working location: office in Brno, or home office in Czech Republic or Slovakia
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
Expected starting date: as soon as possible
