CSWI is a publicly traded, US company that serves a variety of end markets through 5 operating companies.
RectorSeal is looking for an experienced professional to lead the cost accounting function for the Vietnamese legal entity and manufacturing operations. In this role, the Vietnam Cost Controller will be responsible for partnering with the local Vietnam and US accounting teams to ensure accuracy and completeness in inventory and fixed asset accounting (local books and US GAAP), analyzing operational costs, establishing strong inventory controls, and providing leading guidance on systems and process improvements as they relate to inventory. Various other tasks, including ad-hoc operational financial analysis and reporting, may be required as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a balance of leadership skills to develop improvement plans and a willingness to engage in hands-on financial analysis. It is important that the candidate work closely with Operations leaders and the Director of Finance and Accounting to provide strong guidance as it relates to Cost Accounting and Inventory Controls. This role will report locally to the VP of International Operations, with a dotted line to the Contractor Solutions segment VP of Finance and Accounting in Houston, Texas.
*** Responsibilities & Job Duties
• Inventory
o Use data, analytics, and business knowledge to help determine what a "healthy" inventory level is for the business.
o Analyze inventory turns by product and find opportunities to improve within the unique supply chain context of that product.
o Lead physical inventory counts; Develop and facilitate the transition to a cycle counting process.
o Primary point of contact for all inventory valuation and accounting topics.
• Costing
o Establishes the standard costing process - setting standard costs for new products, analyzing standard costs for existing products, and determining the appropriateness of those standards.
o Execute cost rolls.
o Evaluate labor and overhead rates as set in the local system; propose adjustments as needed to reflect "true" product cost/profitability.
o Review Bill of Materials, Routers, Overhead Rates, throughput rates, and purchased raw material prices
o Prepare product costing and profitability analysis.
o Vet assumptions around product cost and model overall profitability of future factory changes.
• Month End Closing
o Close the inventory module in the local system - migrating away from manual analysis
o Support with applicable journal entries as needed
o Reconciliation of all inventory balance sheet accounts
• Reporting & Analytics
o Strong working knowledge of P&L and balance sheet
o Understand and explain manufacturing variances in the monthly P&L. Provide guidance for any operational changes needed to rectify variances.
o Ensure variable costs do not exceed volume trends
o Ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed by management.
• Commercial Support
o Develop KPIs and a dashboard to help the manufacturing function and non-financial business leaders understand important cost trends.
o Support manufacturing in optimizing labor/staffing levels by providing analysis of actual hours vs. standard hours vs. paid hours and utilization/efficiency/productivity metrics.

*** Experience & Education
• Fluent in English and Vietnamese (required)
• Must be able to communicate clearly and directly with the US team.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance from a top-tier university.
• Have at least 4 years of cost accounting experience in a product manufacturing or chemicals manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory and applications of principles (GAAP)
• Experience working in an ERP system.
• ERP implementation or conversion experience a plus.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
