Costing Analyst

*JOB SUMMARY:
The Costing Analyst analyzes, maintains, and updates all phases of Blue Sign documentation. Responsible for insuring in-house BOM's (Bill of Material) for new, redesign and carry over products accurately reflect necessary Blue Sign percentage. Work closely with the Costing, Consumption and Material team to ensure accountability.
Complete necessary reporting for all sustainability claims related to Blue Sign.
*PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design & Sample Room Interaction
• Understand creation in house BOM's (Bill of Material) on Company's system to indicate price of product to help the design and PLM (Product Line Management) team about status of products.
• Calculate fabric and accessory percentage for new and redesign products from BOM's.
• Works with designers in saving cost and suggesting Blue Sign Materials.
• Summary Blue Sign Product status from each round of costing.
Analysis and negotiation price with factories.
• Double check raw material consumption to make sure there are no discrepancy or loss.
• Double check raw material price which Osprey nominated raw material suppliers.
• Study and analyze labor cost.
• Study and analyze Blue Sign percentage.
• Ensures factories BOM's is matching and follow Osprey formula.
• Update and report master FOB during SMS (Salesman Samples) to BRS (Buy Ready Samples)
• Minimize FOB increase for carry over styles.
Patterning
• Using CAD software to calculate fabric consumption.
• Using CAD software to adjust, modify, add information needs and then convert file sending to Tier 1 (sewing factory)
• Generate a backed-up library of Osprey patterns.
• Provide digital patterns for graphic designers to make artwork.
Raw Material Price
• Build database of annual material consumption to negotiate prices with suppliers.
• Build database of Blue Sign product and make recommendations to increase Blue Sign percentage.
• Negotiate price with material suppliers.
• Nominate material suppliers with Blue Sign capability or path to it.
• Provide forecast quantity of material for Costing Manager to negotiate price with Tier 2 (raw materials) suppliers.
Report and Summary Blue Sign.
• Update and Report Blue Sign Products from development & production status.
• Report on Blue Sign percentages.
• Complete and update Blue Sign documents to standard.
• Understand and recommend implementation of all new Blue Sign standards.
• Build and update master material database regarding the Blue Sign supplier, Identification, and other certifications.
• Seasonal Blue Sign Product update to Blue Sign.
General
• Collect and provide primary consumption data (water, waste, energy, CO2, chemistry, etc.) from Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 for Blue Sign.
• Collect and update the Tier 1 social audit information for Blue Sign.
*AUTHORITY& WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Regular contact with Osprey Team Members.
Ability to communicate up and down Osprey and Helen of Troy hierarchy.
