About The Role

The leader of the Data team, reports directly to the VP of Engineering.
The Data Team Lead will be the strategic partner of the VP as well as other business teams in solving business problems and providing business insights. The Data Team Lead will be an expert in machine learning, data model building, and initiate new projects to support business decision-making.
Lead and manage a team of Data Engineers and Analysts, you will also have to provide training and mentoring to your members in order to bring your models and analytics into production.
You will work in close partnership with our c-suite executives, product, design, engineering, sales, finance, and marketing leadership to build, orchestrate, and deliver innovative and disruptive technology.

Responsibilities
• Own and drive the implementation of product strategy and development to achieve business growth goals
• Manage product budget, resources, and personnel to execute product vision.
• Create & execute machine learning engineering strategy and architecture
• Drive ML adoption of public cloud technologies onto the platform
• Drive data science velocity with a range of solutions that reduce friction across the machine learning lifecycle by reducing complexity and intuitive solutions
• Increase the rate of delivery of the ML capabilities through stronger engineering practices and best-in-class technology
• Think outside of the current technology/stack limitations to push the boundaries on what is possible and deliver feasible solutions collaboratively
• Partner with product leaders to understand technical pain points for data scientists and other engineers and translate them into clear and robust engineering solutions
• Advise engineering and product management on the technical roadmap, ensuring that the vision aligns with broader company objectives

Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and designing systems at scale
• Preferably with experience in building data models from scratch or building the Data team from scratch
• Experience developing data pipelines, and orchestrating the deployment of ML models
• Experience developing tools and platforms for Data Scientists with the goal to accelerate model development, training, deployment, and monitoring
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as Python, Kubernetees, Jenkins, Hadoop, Spark
• Hands-on experience driving software development within high-growth environments at scale through DevOps, CICD, SRE experience

• Strong communication skill and entrepreneur mindset to build new practice for the business
• Team leading experience, able to coach, train and mentor junior members
• High learning agility to always bring in new technologies and tools to the company
