Data Migration SME

Primary Responsibilities

System Expertise: Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical aspects related to the core banking systems being migrated. Develop a deep understanding of the existing core banking platform and the new system to facilitate a seamless transition.
Migration Planning: Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive migration plans. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure minimal disruption to banking operations.
Data Analysis and Mapping: Analyze existing data structures and workflows to identify dependencies and mapping requirements for migration. Work closely with data analysts and migration teams to ensure accurate and efficient data migration.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the core banking system. Develop recommendations for streamlining workflows and enhancing operational efficiency during and post-migration.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and validation of migrated data and processes to ensure data integrity and system functionality. Work closely with quality assurance teams to develop test cases and scenarios for validation.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on the new core banking system. Develop training materials, user guides, and documentation to facilitate a smooth transition and ensure user adoption.
Risk Management: Monitor migration progress and identify potential risks or issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables. Proactively address any challenges and escalate issues as necessary to project leadership.

Education, Certifications, and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
At least 8 years of experience in core banking systems implementation and migration projects.
Extensive knowledge of core banking processes, data structures, and technologies.
Proven experience in leading complex migration projects from planning to execution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Certification in core banking systems (e.g., Oracle FLEXCUBE, Temenos T24, FIS Core Banking) is a plus.
Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable.
