Mô tả công việc
SUMMARY
Lead, drive and manage the Dev-Com process from prototype package receipt through to initial production for all brands in the BU (Business Unit) to meet their unique timelines. Lead and manage all Dev-Com activities to ensure products meet the brand & consumer needs, are developed and engineered for mass production, at or exceeding target margins and defined quality. Facilitate communication & collaboration with key stakeholders within and outside the BU organization to drive decision-making and problem solving. Partner with other BU Sr Leads striving for continuous improvement, identifying, and implementing Best Practices and process enhancements in all areas of the Dev-Com cycle.
Provide professional support and technical expertise as well as Deckers Brand specific knowledge to support the BU organization, the BU Leader (OM) and respective Dev-Com Director. Understand BU's overall organizational set up as well as Dev-Com strength and continue to drive for excellence in BU's Dev-Com capability and performance.

Organizational Relationships
Lead, develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with peers, superiors, factories, and others. Coordinate and collaborate with Dev-Com Sr. Leads in other BU's. Represent the company in a positive and supportive manner at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
35% • Lead, drive, and manage the Dev-Com process from prototype package receipt through to initial production for all brands in the BU to meet their unique timelines and ensure products meet the brand & consumer needs, are developed and engineered for mass production, at or exceeding target margins and defined quality.
• Ensure on-time completion of all product samples and with good sample quality.
• Drive the timely creation, delivery, and approval of all relevant technical information (shell patterns, 2D's, 3D's, lasts, patterns, blue-prints, cost sheets, etc.)
• Be trusted partner of BU Leader (OM). Provide manager with regular updates, development and commercialization reports, meeting updates, tracking reports , weekly team meetings , and other business updates
• Understand BU's overall Dev-Com strength & continue to improve BU's Dev-Com performance and capability.
• Balance & monitor BU Dev-Com team's workload to allocate Dev-Com projects according to critical timelines, cost/margin targets and individual team member's experience, skills, and knowledge.
• Ensure clear & concise communication to relevant stakeholders including overseas partners.
30% • Supervise Tech & Tear down meetings attended by team members, factories, and Production/QC with focus on patterns, mold processes, materials, manufacturing processes, and end use performance.
• Work closely with functional departments within the BU (such as costing, factory planning, fit, mold lead) and the central functions outside the BU (such as SCoE, PST, RTB, Bottoms Team, Lab & Innovation).
• Lead & manage the diagnosis of fit/wear and commercialization issues to ensure products are proven and tested for successful commercialization and mass production.
• Manage the execution of the Dev-Com process to ensure on time RTB (Ready to Buy) for production purchase order release.
• Ensure all product testing has been performed and any necessary Override documents are completed.
20% • Through leadership provide expertise, knowledge, and guidance for alternatives in constructions, materials, costing, duties, etc.
• Create a culture for problem-solving, identifying issues, presenting solutions and options to stakeholders.
• Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports to support and develop BU team's cross brand Dev-Com competences.
• Impart knowledge and know-how to use the tools of the trade including calipers, hardness gauge, tape measure, profile gauge, Brannock device, etc.
10% • Partner with Dev-Com Sr. Leads in all BU's striving for continuous improvement, identifying and implementing Best Practices and process enhancements in all areas of the Dev-Com cycle.
• Working with Dev-Com Director and US counterparts review and approve the Brands' seasonal Critical Path development calendars
• Coordinate and assist respective Dev Com Director and US counterparts for the allocation of projects to the appropriate factory according to sourcing strategy
• Encourage the generation of new ideas. Proactively seek, evaluate and monitor new technologies relevant to the industry.
• Lead the drive for continuous improvement in production through periodic examination of defective returns.
5% • Travel to factories, suppliers, and US HQ as necessary.

Education & Any Certifications Required
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
Year(s) of Experience & Background Required
12+ years experiences in the footwear industry
4 years' experience managing staff
In-depth knowledge of material applications for product use
In-depth knowledge of product constructions
Functional & Technical Competencies
Ability to manage and work in a multi-tasked, fast paced environment
Ability to manage and work in a complex global organization satisfying the needs of diverse constituents with competing deadlines and priorities.
Ability to effectively prepare and present information and respond to questions from senior management, factory management and stakeholders of the organization.
