Drama Teacher

The Drama Teacher will have responsibility for teaching Drama in the Middle and High School and will collaborate with other members of the Fine and Performing Arts department on various projects.

Excellent qualifications in Drama and English and teaching qualifications/certification are expected. The appointee will be flexible, approachable, and energetic with a good sense of proportion. The ability to teach a variety of age groups will be a distinct advantage.



The Middle School - High School Drama Teacher will have responsibility for teaching all Drama classes and coordinating divisional level and ensemble performance schedules. The Drama Teacher will collaborate with other members of the Fine and Performing Arts department.

Excellent qualifications in Drama and English and teaching qualifications/certification are expected. The appointee will be flexible, approachable, and energetic with a good sense of proportion. The ability to teach a variety of age groups will be a distinct advantage.

Drama teachers at TAS are expected to produce student productions.



Main Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans that are appropriate for each age group as Drama Teachers will teach students aged 11-18 (Year 7-Year 13)

• Teach students in accordance with standards

• Directing including school plays and productions

• Assign work and homework and mark all work completed by students

• Provide students with necessary feedback, critique, encouragement, and support

• Direct final student performances which are assessed for their final exam/their final grade

• Organize and take students on theatre trips when possible, to support their work and knowledge of theatre

• Attend staff meetings

• Attend parent and teacher meetings to discuss the progress of students

• Perform a duty of care to their students

• Instruct MSHS Drama clases with enthusiasm, creativity, and sensitivity to student learning styles.

• Utilize technology for instructing students, maintaining records, communicating information to parents, and promoting student and drama program achievements.
