I. PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
EHS Assistant Manager supports the EHS Manager in driving EHS strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and deploying Global EHS initiatives across the site. The role plays a key part in strengthening EHS culture, enhancing operational safety, and supporting sustainability objectives in alignment with business goals.
II. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy, Policies, Standards & Procedures
• EHS Assistant Manager responsibilities include the development of all company safety operations concerning the fire, emergency, safety, and environmental programs.
• Responsible for translating and executing Givaudan EHS strategies in the facility to ensure compliance with Local Regulations and Givaudan standards.
• To develop and ensure that EHS procedures, EHS plans and standards are documented and maintained as regulated.
• Active participation in or lead identified EHS Projects and programs as required.
• Periodically analyses and interpret safety events, KPI performance, and trends to advise relevant stakeholders on how to mitigate the risk including their root causes and other relevant factors.
Risk Management
• Carry out routine inspections to check whether all the safety measures are working properly.
• Drives the risk agenda throughout the organization involving line management, coaching members to be professional leaders of risk assessment team.
• Undertakes research processes to identify the abating or eliminating sources of pollutants or hazardous chemicals that may affect the environment or the health of the population.
• Managing Risk Portfolio, Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) Report, Chemical Exposure Monitoring (CEM) with the associated plan of approach and monitoring its progress.
Safety Compliance
• Ensures that all regulatory permits (safety, health, environment and firefighting) are maintained current and that the facility remains in compliance at all times.
• Conducts routine inspections of facilities for compliance with company and government regulations.
• Ensures new regulatory, local and safety rules, standards and procedures are up to date.
• Prepares reports for submission to supervisors and management, which identify the potential hazard(s) and or department discrepancies found, and provides recommendations for control and compliance.
• Systematically revises safety compliance to assure all changes are reflected, uses, and shares available good practices for continuous improvements.
• Drives the achievement and maintenance of SHE accreditation specifically ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Takes a role as Internal Auditor for integrated systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and Global EHS management-RCMS).
Safety Culture and Behavioral Safety
• Carry out various awareness campaigns for promoting the culture of safety.
• Establishes and deploy the safety programs to improve SHE awareness, safe behavior of employees.
• Implement the requirements and initiatives of the HOP (Human Organizational Performance) program.
Safety Training
• Organize workshops, conferences, and trainings to the employees regarding environmental management and safety issues.
• Customizing the content of safety internal training from Group (12 Safety Ground Rules and others) and facilitating internal safety training for employees (Givaudan and Third parties), establishing EHS training program for the contractors to abide by the contractor management system.
• Build up and maintain EHS training needs (TNA) and training matrix.
• Act as a professional safety trainer by defining and delivering necessary training for local team.
Safety Reporting & Investigation
• Coordinates to investigate, document and report, both internally and externally, of (almost) accidents and proactively submits recommendations in this area, including follow-up; supervising external accident analysis.
• Periodically analyze SHE KPI performance, SHE reports and trends to advise relevant stakeholders on how to mitigate the risk including their root causes and other relevant factors.
• Communicates clearly about safety events, and lessons learned to support people's awareness about existing hazards and their potential impact on employees, health, and life.
Safe Operations
• Initiates and executes improvement measures that lead to improvements in working conditions, safety, effectiveness and the environment within the goals of Givaudan.
• Lead or coordinate cross-functional assessments with relevant stakeholders to conduct assessments in line with standards and provide appropriate recommendations for improvement.
Health management
• Implement and continuously improve occupational health programs, including periodic health check-ups.
• Develop and deliver health awareness materials and initiatives to enhance employees' health knowledge.
• Conduct ergonomic and workplace condition assessments, and propose appropriate solutions and improvement roadmaps.
Sustainability
• Drive and support implementation and tracking of Sustainability KPIs (GHG, energy, water, waste).
• Drive and monitor Sustainability initiatives (resource efficiency, waste reduction, decarbonization).
• Collect, analyze, and report Sustainability data in line with APAC/Global requirements.
• Identify improvement opportunities and support development of sustainability projects (quick wins & CAPEX).
• Promote sustainability awareness and engagement across site functions.
• Support site sustainability roadmap and alignment with Global ESG strategy.
Yêu cầu
• Have knowledge about chemicals, environmental science, and human health.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental chemistry, environmental science, industrial ecology, occupational health and safety, mechanical or
electrical engineering
• Have a minimum experience of about 3-4 years in manufacturing fields. Thorough understanding and knowledge of local applicable EHS&R laws and legislation.
• Fluent English
