EHS Construction Manager

Core Responsibilities:
• Undertake safety compliance evaluations, inspections, and audits (top priorities for this role).
• Work closely with Stream Owners and members to ensure smooth coordination between Civil and Construction operations.
• Collaborate closely with Project Security and Sustainability Leads to align Safety-Security-Sustainability agenda for the project.
• Demonstrate safety leadership, credibility, delivering through others and establishing last relationships while keeping the project abreast of new developments and adopt standard processes.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to enhance impact, influence and raise the safety standards of the project to achieve business targets.
• Maintain core areas of expertise, imparting safety knowledge, monitoring safety performance to project manager, consultant, and general contractor to ensure that they achieve business objectives and aid the project development.
• Provide advice and interpret project contractual and statutory requirements and obligations to protect the project's integrity and company's reputation.
• Required to be on site permanently to ensure construction is progressing smoothly without major safety issues. Preferably to reside near to the site for easier access and timely responses.
This role will be transitioned to Manufacturing EHS once the construction project completes. The new responsibilities are:
• Drive safety attitude of local colleagues
• Carrying out the tasks assigned to the scope of work in the regulations related to the EHS system in an operations area
• Preparing risk assessments and supervising their follow-up
• Receiving and validating new machines and technologies
• Provision of safety training and repeated training for new employees or for other colleagues
• Represents the factory in global workshops and projects, contribute to global standard processes
• Carrying out and evaluating actions related to accidents, incidents, quasi-accidents, safety observations
• Collecting, analysing, and reporting data related to occupational health and safety

This role is essential to support the Global Workplace Projects to build the new Factory. There will be challenges coordinating the efforts from Europe and Asia, to get the factory started on time. The individual reports directly to the QEHS Director and defacto Program Lead for LMV.
