Engineering Manager (Mass Production)

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Lead and oversee the process engineering teams within the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) department. Involve driving process excellence, optimizing manufacturing operations, and ensuring the efficient functioning of production equipment. Leadership and technical expertise of Engineering Manager will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality products and services to customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Process Engineering:
• Lead the process engineering team in developing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes for electronic products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure efficient and effective processes.
• Utilize lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and advanced process optimization techniques to enhance process efficiency and quality.
• Implement process control methodologies, such as statistical process control (SPC), to monitor and maintain process stability.
- Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction:
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through process optimization, equipment upgrades, and automation.
• Conduct regular process audits and performance reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the exploration of new technologies, process advancements, and equipment upgrades.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with the quality team to develop and implement quality control processes, including inspection criteria and testing procedures.
• Participate in customer audits and address any quality-related concerns or non-conformities.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related quality issues.
- Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead and manage the process engineering and machine maintenance teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical support.
• Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for the teams.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members.
- Documentation and Reporting:
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of process engineering and equipment maintenance activities.
• Maintain process specifications, work instructions, equipment maintenance records, and other relevant documentation.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations on process performance, equipment reliability, and improvement initiatives.
