Job overview:
EMASI schools offer a bilingual programme, following both the Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) and with added frameworks delivered in English.
This teaching position will provide support to enable students to reach their full potential in the IELTS examination and Cambridge while also maximizing their English language oral and written proficiency. The position reports directly to the Head of Secondary to ensure that this resource is carefully monitored.
This teaching position works closely with teachers in the International Program to provide additional time and instruction to students with the aim of maximizing examination results. This Teacher may be called to deliver works with the EAL Teacher to purposefully timetable withdrawal and/or co-teaching and as such is involved in the co-planning of the curricula.
In addition to their work with students, the Support Teacher works closely:
• With the College Counsellor and Homeroom teacher to support specific student goals related to IELTS achievement for university placement.
• EAL Teacher to provide assistance and co-teaching as required by the Managing Director
• Support with MOET English delivery if and when required
• Support students with English competition preparation if and when required
Workload: 26 (45-minute periods per week, 2 ECAs, duties as assigned)
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide an organised, disciplined and stimulating environment in the classroom;
• Promote practical first-hand experiences and other educationally appropriate activities for individual and group learning, including but not limited to the student-centred classroom, active participation and critical thinking.
• Provide consistent learning opportunities for all students.
• Audit and assess students' language levels on an ongoing basis in line with school and departmental policy.
• Plan, teach and assess using best practices, including the learning styles, abilities, and interests of the students.
• Develop individual learning programmes for students where applicable and effectively communicate the details of these plans to faculty;
• Provide regular opportunities for practice, including learning tips, access to sample tests, and assessment feedback to students in line with school policy and use this to inform future learning.
• Offer support and input to the development of a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum.
• Differentiate work for students, ensuring that resources and materials reflect and support the linguistic diversity of students and liaise with class teachers on lesson planning.
• Keep detailed and updated lesson records of a group and individual work with the students.
• Provide regular assessment feedback to students in line with school policy and use this to inform future learning.
• Take responsibility for the care, upkeep and development of school materials and resources.
• Support and apply all school policies.
• Take part in the school performance and management programme as required by the school.
• Promote the school positively at all times (including meetings with professional bodies, individuals and on social network sites)
• Work with fellow colleagues in a spirit of mutual cooperation to maintain and enhance a pleasant professional working environment.
• Substitute for absent colleagues when necessary.
• Attend punctually all events, and meetings agreed in the contract and as reasonably requested.
• Carry out fully and efficiently pastoral and administrative duties as assigned.
• Participate in after/out of school events such as staff team briefings, staff team meetings, parents' evenings, and residential/educational visits, as may be reasonably requested.
• Be responsible for a reasonable number of playground, lunch and other duties as may be required.
• Organise and run before and after school EAL extracurricular activities and / or meaningful activities for the benefit of students within the ECA Programme
• Support and implement the positive behaviour policy;
• Any other tasks assigned by the Head of Secondary and / or Managing Director after due consultation.

Yêu cầu
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in teaching English
At least IELTS 7.5
Experience: Relevant teaching experience in IELTS prep and EAL teaching.
Competencies: Knowledge:
• Genuine interest in the specific field from both a pedagogical and theoretical perspective;
• The ability to work well with faculty and staff from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and be resilient, resourceful and have an optimistic personality;
• Health & Safety, SEN and Child Protection procedures;
