Flight Simulator Support Technician

SUMMARY OF THE JOB
At this level, the incumbent performs routine technical tasks in order to maintain full flight simulators and other flight training devices serviceability requirements both on-site and in field. The job may require working hours outside of normal office hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Learn and perform Preventive Maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Utilize Maintenance Management System to record and track maintenance activities.
• Utilization of Technical Publications for fault finding.
• Installation of Navigation databases.
• Undertake of LRU replacements.
• Complete all designated training activities.
• Perform device host and visual start-up/shut-down procedures
• Perform daily readiness checks on designated simulators.
• Perform other preventive maintenance tasks if required
• Perform basic visual system alignments.
• Run automatic Qualification Test Guides
• Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications of the training devices.
• Learn and comply with CAE Compliance Monitoring Systems.
• Provide customer service support and communicate customer support issues in a timely manner.
• Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators and other training devices as required.
• Perform logistics duties -including parts received-, repair and testing/validation.
• Perform administrative tasks as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Is compliant with local and company Health, Safety and Environment rules and regulations.
