About the work
AhaSlides is building the most complete slide marketplace in the world - every audience-interaction format, in one place, with no switching. Our build principle is breadth, not depth: each slide type does one clear job, sets up in under 90 seconds, and the audience understands it in 30 seconds with no instructions.
New slide types are built through a fast, AI-driven loop. You will work hands-on with our AI agent tooling - directing coding agents to turn a concept into a playable, deployed prototype, then iterating on feel and visuals until it's right. You own the
play
and the
look
of new slide types, especially the gamified ones (Puzzle, True/False Swipe, Open the Box, Estimation, Label Image). Trent owns the product and the spec; you make it fun and make it look good.
What you'll do
Design the mechanics and interaction of new slide types - pacing, feedback, reward, game feel - and build them yourself by directing our AI agents, not by handing specs to a separate engineering team.
Produce the visual layer: icons, illustrations, UI states, and motion/micro-animations that give each slide type its "juice".
Run the prototype-and-iterate loop end to end: concept → playable build → tune the feel and visuals → ship.
Pressure-test every concept against our bar: one clear job, two interaction stages max, instantly legible to a live audience. Decide when scoring, streaks, leaderboards, and time bonuses add value - and when they get in the way.
What you'll bring
•
Senior-level game-design taste.
A clear track record in gameplay and interaction design - you can show work you've shaped and explain the choices behind the feel.
•
Strong graphic design, done yourself.
You produce production-ready visual assets and motion within a brand system. We don't rely on AI for game assets; craft is the point of this hire. A portfolio is required.
•
Comfort directing AI agents to build.
You're not intimidated by a code-adjacent, agent-driven workflow and can carry a prototype from idea to shipped without an engineer holding your hand.
Nice to have
Experience designing for live, real-time, multiplayer, or audience contexts.
An eye on where this goes: opening the marketplace so external trainers and game designers can publish their own slide types.
