As a CD Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing the modern trade channel accounts within the organization. You will play a crucial role in developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, building strong customer relationships, and driving business growth within the modern trade sector.
  1. Target Direction
  • Develop and execute customer development strategies to achieve sales targets and profitability goals.
  • Manage key modern trade accounts, build strong relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and growth opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage contract compliance with modern trade accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies and optimize customer development initiatives.
  • Track sales performance, analyze data, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Identify and pursue market expansion opportunities within the modern trade sector.
  • Foster relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support business growth.
2. Capability Building
  • Collaborate with key accounts to develop Joint Business Plans (JBP) that align with both parties' objectives and drive mutual growth.
  • Possess strong negotiation skills to effectively navigate discussions and agreements with key account stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at the head office and buyer level.
  • Foster trust, open communication, and collaboration to strengthen partnerships and drive business outcomes.
3. Segmentation: By Channel and by Category
4. Shopper Activities
  • Collaborate with key accounts to develop effective promotion plans that drive sales and consumer engagement.
  • Analyze the performance and effectiveness of shopper activities against the planned objectives.
  • Apply the key learnings to optimize future activities and enhance overall account planning strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze forecast accuracy to improve supply chain efficiency and minimize stock-outs or overstocks.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive offerings to optimize product placement and visibility.
  • Develop strategies to secure a favorable share of the product assortment within key accounts.
  • Collaborate with key accounts to leverage direct mail campaigns effectively.

  • Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and historical data to estimate the growth potential of the product category.
  • Use various forecasting techniques to project future market demand and identify growth opportunities.

  • Collaborate with demand planning and supply chain teams to optimize forecast accuracy, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
  • Assess and improve the payment process for key accounts, including invoicing, payment terms, and collections.
  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to streamline payment processes and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
