Sales Manager is accountable for formulation and implementation of sales activities, while providing leadership, supervision, and direction to the sales team. The role is additionally in charge of ensuring revenue goals, productivity levels and quality standards are met based on the objectives, performance and quality standards of the hotel, serviced apartments, condominiums, retail / commercial spaces.
This position reports to the Director of Sales and will work closely with other team members in Sales and Marketing Department.
Work Experience Requirements
• Formulating the yearly sales strategy and regular updates as required with the Senior Management / Director of Sales and Marketing / General Manager
• Working with the marketing team to form a sales plan that is strategically supported by the marketing effort
• Working with the revenue team to design rate plans and advertising special promotional rates to increase bookings over need periods, and maximizing rates over high seasons
• Analyzing current client base or target markets for the hotels
• Leads the sales team in daily implementation of the sales strategy
• Overseeing room sales department and ensure implementation of sales operational processes and procedures
• Monitoring leads and contacts gathered by the
Sales Executives
• Maintaining proper servicing of accounts
• Networking with special event planners to encourage hotel bookings
• Maintaining positive relationships with clients to encourage repeat and recurring business
• Devising new ways to expand the client base
• Managing the growth of current database of bookers, decision makers and guests who book through the sales department
• Overcoming hesitations of clients to close a sale
• Overseeing distribution of marketing materials
• Addressing and resolving any issues or complaints regarding sales
• Ensuring Sales Team follow up payment of accounts with corporate clients who have payment terms
• Performing administrative functions such as the preparation of reports on current and future group bookings, organization and filing of transactional documents; monitoring sales target achievement of sales executives; submission of proposals and contracts; and overall management of accounts
• Conducting field calls to clients to identify potential business
• Initiating
telemarketing and sales blitz efforts and monitor and report on progress
• Ensuring awareness of current market conditions and efforts of competitive set and any new entrants
• Strategizing and innovating market intelligence and competitive information through marketing research and competition check
• Attending to all events which maximize sales opportunities such as travel and trade shows and sales blitz
• Managing relationship with the key accounts
• Assuming responsibility in maintaining the relationship with key decision makers
• Meeting with representatives from companies to explain the hotel's merits and amenities
• Other Responsibilities
• Understanding and ensuring continued update and implementation of the relevant policies, procedures and service delivery standards of the sales department
• Understanding and ensuring continued update and implementation of the human resources policies, procedures and code of discipline; while promoting management, team and cross department support, leadership, professionalism and good relations
• Maintaining and promoting communication efficiency for general and work specific information, conduct of regular meetings and / or discussions on work activities, service delivery, and continuing work system improvement
• Monitoring the activities of the sales executives and coordinators while providing training and coaching in implementing effective reservation procedures; monitoring and evaluating team members' performance to improve productivity and efficiency
• Performing other related duties and functions assigned by the General manager and DOS
