Position title: KS1 International Homeroom Teacher
Reports to: Head of Primary
Purpose of the Role:
This role is designed to enrich the Key Stage 1 (KS1) education experience by delivering engaging and high-quality teaching across multiple subjects within the Cambridge primary curriculum at the Japanese International School, Hanoi.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects, aligned with the Cambridge Primary curriculum.
Utilize diverse teaching methods and tools to cater to various learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and additional support as needed.
Create cross-curricular links to enrich student learning and foster a holistic approach to education.
Curriculum Development and Collaboration:
Contribute to the planning and development of a coherent and progressive KS1 curriculum.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance subject integration and support student engagement across disciplines.
Participate in school exhibitions, assemblies, and presentations to showcase student achievements.
Professional Development and School Community Involvement:
Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain high standards of teaching practice.
Attend and actively participate in school events, staff meetings, and parent-teacher conferences.
Support the school's mission and values by contributing to school-wide initiatives and fostering a positive community spirit.

Keep accurate records of student progress and attainment, using the school's Student Tracker.
Manage classroom time effectively and ensure lessons are free from unnecessary disruption.
Innovation and Improvement of Teaching and Learning
Engage in reflective practice to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
Integrate problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity into lesson design and delivery.
Use digital technologies effectively to support and extend student learning.
