Senior Press, Culture and Communications Officer
The Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Press, Culture and Communications Officer (part-time)
Job type: 6 months contract
Working Hours: Part-time job for 6 months with 20 hours/week and starting from 1st March 2023
Gross salary range for part-time: starting from USD 945 to USD 1.400 per month (part- time)
There is a possibility the job might be full-time.
Overall responsibility
The Consulate General primarily focuses on strengthening the bilateral economic relations between Vietnam and The Netherlands. The Senior Press, Culture and Communications Officer contributes to the Netherlands visibility in the fields of public, cultural and economic diplomacy and our engagement with a diverse network in the public and private sector as well as civil society. He or she will be responsible for the public diplomacy, external communications, cultural programs and activities, contacts and involvement of press and media. Together with colleagues in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the Officer will organize topical events and coordinate our outreach both interns of traditional and social media. The Officer will report to the Consul General.
Profile
The Senior Press, Culture and Communications Officer is a professional pro-active team player, who is result oriented and can take responsibility, good at networking and has outstanding communication skills both oral and written in English and in Vietnamese.
He or she has a proven track record working with social media, the ability to multi-task and feels comfortable to operate in an environment of a multitude of topics and interests. He or she preferably brings in existing networks in the field of culture, press and communications, and knows how to optimize his/her network, reach and engage different audiences. The Senior Officer works well together with others, both at the Netherlands Consulate General and at the Netherlands Embassy in Hanoi, but also with external partners.
The candidate goes the extra mile to achieve results and will be available on weekends and evenings when relevant for his or her topic.
Specific duties and responsibilities
Promoting the Netherlands policy agenda and interests in Vietnam by building and maintaining relevant networks, audiences, effective external communications through different types of (social) media.
Promote NL priorities through PD and cultural activities
Developing and maintaining a strong network with the cultural community, relevant authorities, press, influencers and the private sector.
Developing and organizing events that reflect and contribute to the policy agenda and interests of the Netherlands in Vietnam.
NL Branding activities.
Regularly updating the Embassy & Consulate General's communication strategy - also in line with a multi-annual plan.
Manage & develop NL social media channels by promoting the Netherlands policy agenda (sectors development/business development: water & climate; agriculture, Smart/sustainable cities/businesses and interests in human right & equal opportunities
Support private sector in the development and delivery of their communications and marketing strategies, especially the social media elements - objectives & plan depend on a particular event.
Qualifications and requirements
Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in communication, journalism, marketing, event management or a related field
Must have at least 1 year of relevant experience
Broad and well developed network in press & media, public diplomacy and cultural diplomacy
Proven organizational skills (project management)
Strong command of social media communication
General knowledge of Vietnam's economy, business customs, political and societal structures and cultural sector as well as marketing channels, laws, regulations and policies
Excellent command of Vietnamese and English
Computer skills
