I. GET TO KNOW THE ROLE
The Public Affairs Specialist is responsible for helping develop stakeholder mapping, policy advocacy and implementing stakeholder engagement initiatives that inform, connect, and inspire our external stakeholders with a focus on government relations. In tandem, this person will serve as a trustworthy contact point to our external stakeholders to promote corporate image in order to nurture and sustain healthy relationships in hope of supporting the business growth.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Stakeholder Relations
Partner closely with the Corporate Communications & PR Manager, to design stakeholder mapping and execute stakeholder engagement strategies that inform, connect and inspire our core stakeholders;
Provide stakeholder support for the immediate vaccination task force and COVID-19 responses strategies;
Conduct industry analyses, review regulatory assessments and keep track of competitors' activities;
Work intensively with central and local governmental organisations under the manager's direction to collect intelligence and information that allows the business to operate smoothly and effectively;
Leverage a mix of methods that connect with and inform stakeholders, from external newsletters, informal greet & meet, occasional gifting, sponsorship, interactive events;
Develop partnership(s) with governmental organisations, social-political organisations and other NGOs to promote corporate image;
Co-develop and implement engagement initiatives to support corporate sustainability agenda and influence other departments;
Develop plans for ad-hoc projects and deliver results in a fast-moving organisation while maintaining an eye for accuracy and detail;
2. Communication Management
Deliver sharp and convincing written communications, including official request letters, corporate proposals, policy papers at a high level of proficiency using telling facts and figures;
Provide policy and intelligence communication updates to support corporate business plans and priorities;
Support external communications projects that aim to leverage strategic partnerships to position BAEMIN as a responsible corporate citizen;
Support internal communication projects that aim to keep the employees informed of the current political and regulatory landscape and help them understand the roles they need to play;
Support cross-functional team in communicating with various key stakeholders to achieve the mutual desired results;
3. Other tasks assigned by Managers
Additional responsibilities and projects as needed;
III. QUALIFICATIONS
Public Affairs experience is highly appreciated (1 - 2 years), preferably within a complex, fast-moving organisation; other experience (such as in public policy, legal or public communications) with similar skill sets and approaches can be considered.
Having a strong interest in public affairs, government strategic relations, stakeholder management, public policy.
A sharp and persuasive writer, careful and thorough editor and proof-reader, you will need to strategically convey corporate messages to be in line with the government's interest and direction.
Strategic thinker, with the right judgement, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
A friendly networker who can sympathetically work with different types of people, especially those who work in public sectors and establish a relationship of trust at all levels.
Proven experience of collaborating and influencing other people.
You will need to see a bigger picture behind every story and be able to translate it to relevant and engaging content for multi-stakeholders.
