Role Summary
We are looking for a Head of Engineering to join the GFT APAC team and help build our rapidly expanding Nearshore Development Delivery Centre in Vietnam, while striving to create world class software solution in the digital banking and blockchain-based payment solutions with our clients and partners. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with frequent travel to Hong Kong, Singapore and GFT European locations.
As a Head of Engineering, the primary focus is on building and managing nearshore development and technical resources who will be working on remote projects. Working with industry-leading technology and business experts in digital banking, cloud blockchain, cryptocurrency, and distributed ledger technology domains. Managing the development of teams who are well versed in all matters related to agile methodologies and frameworks, technology delivery and the engineering of exceptional software solutions. Daily, you'll collaborate internationally with colleagues, clients, and partners throughout Asia and Europe.
Key Activities
- Building local technology practices and GFT Vietnam Center of Excellence (CoE) in transformation technologies
- Developing GFT competencies with highest standards to provide our partner services such as project management, project development and technical solution consultancy.
- Traveling internationally to various client/GFT sites within the APAC region
- Reporting to the current IDU Manager.
- Aim to takeover complete oversight of Centers of Excellence for GFT Technologies in APAC
- Working with Business Development Leads to support Pre-sales activities:
- Formulate proposals and write the solution to be delivered
- Support definition of rate cards, estimation and related technical/ solutioning documentation
- Working with European teams to mobilise skill sets as much as possible
- Develop and explicitly communicate the Training programs/ Tech talks with GFT partners, internal teams and external communities.
Your Skills and Experience
Required Skills
- 10+ years' experience working in Software Development and/or as a senior Engineering manager/ Principle/ Head of Engineering the banking of fintech sectors.
- Extensive experience in cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Experienced in Microservice, Micro Frontends architecture design, Kafka, Java, Kotlin, Python programming languages
- Knowledgable of DevOps, CircleCI, Kong Gateway, ReactJS, Jmeter, PagerDuty, automation test
- Experience in Core Banking Technologies, DLT, Blockchain, AI is a plus
- Track record/in-depth experience of building new teams within Banking/ Financial Service domain
- Committed to taking on full responsibility of Center of Excellence and growing stable teams
- Problem-solving, sense of ownership and track record in leadership of Software Developers
- Excellent written and verbal use of English.
