VPV is seeking "PROGRAM OFFICER" (starting August 2026) to carry out the following activities:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Volunteer
Coordination Officer (VCO) is responsible for onboarding, training,
supervising, and supporting individual and groups of volunteers to ensure
positive volunteer experience and effective contribution to organizational
goals. The position serves as the primary point of contact between the
organization and volunteers, ensuring that volunteer activities are
well-planned, safe, meaningful, and aligned with program objectives.
The position
plays a key role in volunteer support, orientation, training, mentoring,
project quality improvement, stakeholder engagement, partnership development,
and local volunteer leadership development. The VCO also supports the
establishment of new volunteer projects and contributes to the growth and
sustainability of the volunteer program.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer
Onboarding and Training
●
Match volunteers with suitable assignments based on skills, interests,
and availability.
●
Coordinate volunteer placement arrangements and logistics including
volunteer pick up (when needed) and orientation sessions including city tour.
●
Prepare onboarding materials, handbooks, and guidelines.
●
Deliver or coordinate various volunteer training programs.
●
Ensure volunteers understand projects' policies, safeguarding
requirements, and codes of conduct.
●
Support volunteers in adapting to their placements.
Volunteer
Management and Support
●
Serve as the primary contact person for volunteers throughout their
placement.
●
Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments.
●
Conduct regular check-ins and mentoring sessions.
●
Support volunteers in addressing personal, cultural, or
project-related challenges effectively in a timely manner.
●
Ensure volunteers work in a safe and supportive environment.
Program
Monitoring and Evaluation
●
Monitor volunteer satisfaction and engagement.
●
Identify opportunities to enhance volunteer learning outcomes and
positive experience
●
Develop initiatives to improve volunteer experience and retention.
●
Recommend improvements to volunteer management systems and practices.
●
Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
●
Prepare quarterly and annual reports on volunteer activities.
New Project
Development and Expansion
●
Identify opportunities for new volunteer placements and community
projects.
●
Develop project concepts and implementation plans.
●
Support/Lead discussions and agreements with new partners.
●
Participate in launching and operating new volunteer project
initiatives.
Partnership
Development and Stakeholder Engagement
●
Build and maintain relationships with host projects, schools,
community groups, and partner organizations.
●
Support partner capacity building when relevant and relationship
management.
●
Facilitate smooth communication between volunteers and project
partners.
●
Represent the organization at relevant meetings and events.
Local Volunteer
Club Coordination and Leadership Development
●
Recruit and engage local volunteers
●
Coordinate a Volunteer Club or Youth Leadership Group.
●
Facilitate regular meetings, activities, and community engagement
events.
●
Train and mentor volunteer leaders.
●
Encourage leadership, teamwork, and intercultural learning among local
volunteers.
QUAILIFICATIONS &
REQUIREMENTS
●
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social work, Psychology, Sociology or
related fields.
●
Vietnamese nationals with excellent understanding about volunteer
work.
●
Good spoken and written English.
●
Ability to work with kids with/without disabilities.
●
Passion in youth empowerment and leadership.
●
A minimum of 2 years' experience in international working environment
and volunteer work.
●
Strong interpersonal and communicational skills.
●
Good facilitation skills in training and workshops.
●
Ability to deliver basic communication/promotion tasks is preferred.
●
Good design skills including canvas and photoshop is preferred.
●
Ability and availability to travel locally and internationally as
required.
●
Previous experience with VPV or CSDS is a plus.
