IT Operations Team Lead
In this role
As an IT Operations Team Lead, you are responsible for the infrastructure and the operations ("run") of a large, mission-critical application, operated in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) mode.
You work with experts in Europe to develop strategies, standards, roadmaps, and infrastructure directions.
You manage directly a team of infrastructure experts, responsible for change control (impact and risk analysis, quality gate, incident RCA), security, access rights and permissions, integration, deployment, automation, monitoring, database administration, maintenance of key system services, and standard tooling. You set up and report on operation KPIs, including system availability, downtime, security, and infrastructure-related incidents. You continuously improve these KPIs by detecting and analyzing system weaknesses and implementing corrective or strengthening actions.
You also manage functionally a team of DevOps engineers who are responsible for the build and the deployment of one or several application modules. You animate the team, explain the global strategy and directions, and you coach, help, control, spread the DevOps mindset, continuously improve the processes and way-of-working, and ensure that each team member implements and rolls-out the strategic decisions in their application(s).
Beyond operations, you work with application development and service management teams to ensure customer success during production.
Whenever necessary, you research on new or emerging technologies and solutions, give recommendations, build proofs of concept and conduct trainings. You manage projects to modernize the system's overall infrastructure.
About your profile
1. Required
Good communication skills and advanced level of spoken and written English.
Strong knowledge of IT Operations, IT Services, IT Engineering and IT Security.
Familiar with mainstream cloud platforms, such as AWS and OCI.
Litterate in multiple build, integration, deployment, monitoring, operating systems, networking and database technologies (e.g. Linux, VMWare, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Grafana, Elasticsearch).
Experience in leading a team of at least 5 engineers.
Advocate of the DevOps mindset.
2. Plus
Experience working for a foreign company
Certifications on Amazon AWS and/or Oracle OCI
Experience as a database administrator (DBA)
Software development background
Familiarity with the Agile / SCRUM methodology
Fluency in French
Experience
At least 5 years experience managing mission-critical IT operations
At least 2 years experience in software deployment (CI/CD, DevOps)
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
